TWSBI VAC 700R Fountain Pen
The TWSBI VAC 700R Fountain Pen is a well-priced vacuum filler. Vacuum fillers feature a very interesting mechanism that creates a vacuum in the pen. Although this may seem complicated, it is quite easy and enjoyable to use. All that is required is pulling the piston rod back, dipping the pen into an ink bottle, and pushing the rod back into the body of the pen.
This type of filling system is great for a few reasons. The first is that it allows for a greater ink capacity, since the filler takes up very little space. The second is that the vacuum can be sealed off, which prevents leakage if taken on a plane. The third is that it makes for a beautiful design, which looks and feels great to use.
Apart from vacuum system, another notable feature is the nib. The nib on the VAC 700R is a large Number 6 nib, which is comfortable to write with It also suits the size of the pen very well. The nib section can also be removed very easily, for convenient cleaning and maintenance.
Regarding the design of the pen, the cap and vacuum knob are faceted, much like the TWSBI Diamond 580. The pen is made of a clear plastic, which is convenient to quickly check how much ink you have left. It also has the added bonus of showing off the vacuum filling system.
A great accessory for this pen is the TWSBI VAC 20A Ink Bottle. This inkwell screws directly over the nib of the VAC 700R, like a cap, and makes achieving a complete fill on the VAC 700R an extremely simple task.
