TWSBI Diamond 580RBT
The TWSBI Diamond 580RBT is a special variant of the Diamond 580 Fountain Pen. This pen features a translucent red cap and grip section, and a translucent blue turning knob. Additionally, a Taiwanese star appears on the top of the cap, in place of the TWSBI logo that appears on the standard Diamond 580.
The Diamond 580RBT is a piston filling pen. This means that you don’t need a converter to use bottled ink with this pen. Instead, dipping the nib into a bottle of ink and turning the piston knob will suck ink directly into the body. This gives the pen an enormous ink capacity, and makes refilling the pen quite an enjoyable activity.
The body of this pen is faceted in an aesthetically pleasing diamond pattern. This is where the “Diamond” in the name comes from. Apart from being a beautiful design, the clear body also makes it very to tell how much ink is left at a glance. Additionally, it’s great for showing off brightly coloured inks, but the best choices would of course be red and blue inks. The Diamond 580RB also features metal accents on the cap and grip section, as well as around the piston knob. The steel nib is smooth and quite wet, and matches these accents well. These details make for a pen that looks great and performs just as well.
Additionally, if you’re a fan of this pen, you would love the TWSBI Diamond 50 ink bottle. After removing the nib, the Diamond 580RBT fountain pen can be attached directly to this bottle. This makes it very easy to achieve a complete fill.

This TWSBI is so comfortable to hold and effortless to write with. Being left handed poses no problems with a TWSBI pen as I experience only a smooth, gliding writing experience.

My most expensive fountain pen purchase thus far. Love the design and construction of the pen, good quality! I have heard of some cracking on the nib feed / barrel on previous models, but believe that TWSBI have solved this problem, as I have not had any problems whatsoever. Love the capacity of the piston filler, it writes for ages! The nib is silky smooth and a dream to write with. Worth every penny!
