Rohrer & Klingner Ink – Leipziger Schwarz
Rohrer & Klingner continues its long tradition in producing inks with this assortment which also includes ferro-gallic inks.
In addition to the classic colors, there are now new colour tones which were developed specifically with calligraphy in mind. Rohrer’s writing inks are perfect for fountain pens, steel nibbed pens, dip pens and other writing utensils which are used in calligraphy. Pleasant, high-quality dyes which are processed into the individual tones reveal a balanced intensity of colours in addition to the high brilliance in the ink.

I adore this ink. The colour is utterly unique – I currently have it in a Lamy Lx Ruthenium with a medium nib. I find that I often scribble with this ink for no other reason than it is just so beautiful to look at. Very slight feathering on cheaper paper. But life is too short for cheap paper anyway. On Rhodia and other more premium paper, the deeper blue tones ring out like a bell across a black sea. Unassuming enough to use at work, Enigmatic enough to write secret love notes on creamy paper, message-in-a-bottle style

I just love this ink. My 0.5 Preppy tends to be a little on the wet side, especially when I need to write on cheaper paper…. The life of a teacher. This ink is a little less wet and work quite well. The shade of blue coming through makes me even love it more.

Great colour, so subtle. I’m using it in my Mont Blanc fountain pen and I find the ink flows smoothly — much better than the original Mont Blanc ink.
