This is a great pen for the price, but it does struggle in this price point since it’s competition is so stiff. The pen writes wonderfully, it has that classic bit of feedback Platinum pens are known for, so don’t expect a smooth writing experience(although I don’t see this as a drawback) I bought this pen in a medium, and it’s comparable to a normal western medium. I did experience a few hard starts, particularly on the upstrokes. The pen does feel a little cheap in hand, the plastic is nice but seems to scratch very easily. It does not come with a converter, which is a downer since Platinum only accepts proprietary converters, and this in essence raises the price of the pen. When compared to other pens in the same price category it does seems to struggle, cheaper pens like the Pilot metropolitan, Kaweco sport and Lamy Safari make this pen a hard sell when you don’t get much more for the extra money. If you’re already looking for pens in and around this price point I would rather recommend the TWSBI Eco, which is a piston filler and an amazing all round pen, or perhaps something a bit more expensive like the Caran D’ache 849 which is considerably more premium feeling with a great and consistent nib (although it also does not come with a converter but it accepts international standard cartridges!)
