I’m surprised at how much I like this dusty gold ink. For a little while I experimented with journalling in this colour range, and I sampled KWZ Old Gold and Pilot Iroshizuku In-Ho as well. Yamabukiiro is the driest ink of the three, and much pricier than the Old Gold, but it’s the one I’d most like to own a bottle of. The beautiful minimalist design of the Kyoto range is a strong factor too. I enjoyed writing with the ink, and I love seeing it on random papers or in my journals and notebooks when I go through them. For me, that’s the sign of an ink worth buying – not only is it a pleasure to use but also to read months or years later.

What a nice ink – yellow-gold and very close to KWZ old Gold, but more golden-dirty yellow. It’s a flattish ink, a bit dry and no hidden tricks in terms of shading and sheens.
