KWZ Fountain Pen Ink – Green #3
Green #3 is one of the most attractive and appealing greens from KWZ, it is a saturated, rich green without too much blue.
KWZ Green #3 has an amazingly quick drying time which allows long writing sessions without any smudge on your paper, ensuring a high level of precision. The shading of the ink reviews a very interesting color, depending on the paper in use. It would look perfect on some of the Rhodia and TWSBI books which we stock. It has anti-clogging properties which makes the ink not to easily dry out inside the pen and allows a crispy clean writing experience. It is well compatible even with your vintage pens, and goes very well with piston fillersÂ

A wonderfully green ink with the bonus of being scented, though it isn’t sold as such. A wet ink with loads of satruration, so it is dark but you can easily tell that the ink is green on a European medium (haven’t tried broad) nib.
As for the scent, I would call it apple scented though for comparison sake I’d say our version of Cream Soda is just about right

Green #3 – “are you telling me there are more greens!?”
Who is KWZ Inks, I’ve never heard of them?
Who are these people?
Konrad Wojciech Å»urawski (get it, K. W. Z.?) and his wife Agnieszka Å»urawska, from Poland, are scientists who hand make their inks, after strenuous experimenting and real life testing (Konrad apparently wasn’t happy with existing options and decided to make his own inks! How cool is that?!).
Now that’s a story I can get behind, what aspirational and inspirational people!
Check out their other inks:
• SHEEN Machine – the Shangri-La of sheen…
• Thief’s Red – A gorgeous red, that holds a little unexpected secret… “A scented ink? WHAT!”
• Warsaw Dreaming! – “What even is a Warsaw? Oh, it is a city in Poland. Oh, the geniuses behind the ink come from Poland. Oh, this is NOW my favourite black ink, and I’m gonna be using it in my daily everyday carry.”
In addition:
• All of these inks are satisfyingly “wet”.
• Some are scented!
• And most importantly, they are extremely good value for money (I’ll take Green #3, at a third of the price, over my previous favourite, Graf von Faber Castell Moss Green, any day of the week)
And I’m not even near the glorious rock bottom of the KWZ inks rabbit hole, there are Iron Gall inks to try, there are unusual colours with crazy-curiosity-inspiring names like “Rotten Green” to try (hopefully it doesn’t have the scent), and having gotten to know a little bit of the story of KWZ inks I am sure that Konrad and Agnieszka are coming up with new, interesting, never before seen ideas and inks, that I cant wait to try.
Thank you Jamie, Jesse, Alicia, Dorcas and all the “pushers” at Write Gear.
I cant wait for my next “fix” and KWZ ink “high”…
