Diamine Fountain Pen Ink – Meadow
Originating in the 1800’s, Diamine Ink has a long history and has been developed into one of the finest quality fountain pen inks on the market. It’s reliability has lead it to become one of the most sought after inks by both professionals and beginners. This Diamine Meadow Ink is suitable for any brand of fountain pens, making it a convenient purchase too. It is a water-based non-toxic ink, making it a safe option for vintage pens in particular. The bright meadow colour of this ink is not overly saturated and thus has a beautiful vibrancy to it. It is also versatile in the sense that it has the ability to be easily mixed with other colour inks and create new colours. This Diamine ink also has anti-clogging properties, ensuring even and smooth precision across paper.

I bought Meadow for proofreading/marking up manuscripts, but it’s just a touch darker than I would like for that purpose (I’m going to try Diamine Kelly Green next). No complaints about the ink itself though. Meadow is a lovely, grassy green, perfectly named, fresh enough to brighten the page but dark enough to read easily. It flows beautifully in a Platinum F nib, and looks pretty in a demonstrator pen. It was my ink/nib combo of choice to use on temperamental Moleskine paper, and it behaved well on ordinary copy paper, but is, of course, better appreciated on Rhodia, Fabriano or Life papers. It’s the kind of ink I’d keep around for daily writing, when I’m in the mood for something lush and vibrant.

Lovely bright yet still homey grass green, easy flow with my EF and F nibs. Suggestion to use pens with lighter flow as heavy ink flow seems to make the colour of the ink look muddy which ruins the lovely shade. Slight feathering and ghosting on 100 gsm cream journal paper.
