Diamine Fountain Pen Ink – Autumn Oak
Originating in the 1800’s, Diamine Ink has a long history and has been developed into one of the finest quality fountain pen inks on the market. It’s reliability has lead it to become one of the most sought after inks by both professionals and beginners. This Diamine Autumn Oak Ink is suitable for any brand of fountain pens, making it a convenient purchase too. It is a water-based non-toxic ink, making it a safe option for vintage pens in particular. The Autumn oak colour of this ink is not overly saturated and thus has a beautiful depth to it. It is also versatile in the sense that it has the ability to be easily mixed with other colour inks and create new colours. This Diamine ink also has anti-clogging properties, ensuring even and smooth precision across paper.

Very good shading, not really a fan of this colour on my current normal paper. Maybe this is one that needs a paper like Rhodia to really pop off the page. Autumn does describe the colour perfectly though.

Crazy shading ink. Similar to Apache sunset. This ink is like a tropical sunset or a autumn leaf, your choice. Better shading in a ‘wet’ pen, from light orange to red. This ink is so cool in my twsbi eco! Love this colour!

Not quite as bright an orange as in the photo, more dull, but still a very nice colour, especially with a broader nib.

Autumn Oak is a lovely subdued alternative to Noodler’s Apache Sunset, ranging closer to the muted orange-brown of dying leaves than a full on blazing sunset (the key is in the name after all). The wetter your nib is, the more spectacular the shading will be, and you’ll probably get more out of it by using a higher quality fountain pen paper. But overall it’s a really nice ink, and the warm colours and pronounced shading make it very pleasant for general use.

I was scared of orange inks until I found this one. A pleasant orange, with shading towards a dark reddish orange. Perhaps not for office use, it is dark enough to use for everyday writing. Especially if you want to convey an upbeat emotion.
