Rohrer & Klingner Ink – Solferino
Rohrer & Klingner continues its long tradition in producing inks with this assortment which also includes ferro-gallic inks.
In addition to the classic colors, there are now new colour tones which were developed specifically with calligraphy in mind. Rohrer’s writing inks are perfect for fountain pens, steel nibbed pens, dip pens and other writing utensils which are used in calligraphy. Pleasant, high-quality dyes which are processed into the individual tones reveal a balanced intensity of colors in addition to the high brilliance in the ink.

This ink has an amazing saturated colour.
I just tested it, using a Jinhao 750, which seems to have quite a heavy flow. It feathered and bled through on my Paper-Oh notebook, but not on my Moleskine. This is a reversal on the behavior of most inks I’ve tried.

If you’ve ever wanted Noodlers Catus Fruit Eel – get this ink instead. This one is a touch more purple, but the colour has more depth, shading and I’v even gotten a blackish sheen on some papers.

I love this colour! it’s very comparable with Yama Budo (a bit more pink though) and Lamy crystal Beryl at an affordable price. It has a richness to it, some sheen and behaves well in fine, broad and flex nibs.

Brilliant colour. Just love it. Behaves so nicely and has quick drying time. Used it on Rhodia paper.
