TWSBI VAC Mini Fountain Pen – Smoke
The TWSBI VAC Mini Fountain Pen is a smaller version of the TWSBI VAC 700. Much like the VAC 700, it is a very well-priced vacuum filling fountain pen. Vacuum fillers feature a very interesting mechanism that creates a vacuum in the pen. Although this may seem complicated, all that is required is pulling the piston rod back, dipping the pen into an ink bottle, and pushing the rod back into the body of the pen.
This type of filling system is great for a few reasons. The first is that it allows for a greater ink capacity, since the filler takes up very little space. The second is that the vacuum can be sealed off, which prevents leakage if taken on a plane. The third is that it makes for a beautiful design, which looks and feels great to use.
Regarding the design of the pen, the pen has a faceted body made of a clear plastic. In addition to looking great, this makes it easy to quickly check how much ink you have left. It also has the added bonus of showing off the vacuum filling system. Furthermore, though the pen appears small when closed, the back of the pen is threaded. As a result of this, you can screw the cap on the back to bring the size of the pen up to a very comfortable length. This also makes it great to carry in your pocket.
A great accessory for this pen is the TWSBI VAC 20A Ink Bottle. This inkwell screws directly over the nib of the VAC 700, like a cap, and makes achieving a complete fill on the VAC Mini an extremely simple task.
