TWSBI ECO Fountain Pen –Â Clear
A relatively new release, the TWSBI ECO Fountain Pen has become a staple for many a fountain pen user since it first became available in 2015. ECO is short for “Economical”, and this pen is a prime example of value for money. TWSBI took input from the fountain pen community, specifically to create an affordable pen with premium performance and features. The result is a simple, yet extremely effective workhorse pen that’s great for not only beginners, but more experienced users too.
With a perfectly cylindrical, clear body, and a distinctive hexagonal cap and piston knob, this pen has an unmistakable design. This fully clear variant adds a new dimension to the ECO’s already unique styling. Fill it with any blue ink would make for a great daily writer, although an orange ink would have a great visual effect.
As a piston filler, it has a truly massive ink capacity. This pen will keep going for pages on end, especially with a finer nib. The piston filler may seem intimidating to those unfamiliar, but it is as easy to use as a converter. Simply dip it into the ink and turn the knob.
It fits comfortably in the hand, and it posts securely and comfortably.
TWSBI encourages user maintenance, with the ECO being easy to take apart, clean, and put back together.
The pen comes in a plastic gift box with instructions in addition to a plastic wrench and silicone grease.

Any pen that arrives with a service manual and tool kit is cool. The pen is the same length as a Lamy Vista, with a slightly larger diameter. The dual seal piston is genius and works effortlessly. I prefer bold nibs, the Twsbi bold is about the same as a Lamy medium. Filled it with Kaweco Paradise Blue and got started. Wow, the nib slides over all paper with minimal effort. The pen is very well crafted. The only ECO feature about it is the price, it is a lot of pen for a small outlay.

Great design , solid build . Bought one with a 1.1mm stub nib and not too bad for a stub . Overall very happy with the pen and service at writegear !

I absolutely love the TWSBI ECO. I own three and that should tell you how much I like these TWSBI ECO pens.
I pen looks and feels like quality, the piston filler works well and the amount of ink in the pen is very good, you won’t run out quickly.
If there was another start I would add it.

Walk in customer. This was only my second fountain pen and the first one purchased from writegear. It punches above its worth and has a nice little feedback. Holds a ton of ink for long writing sessions and has a little line variation, enough for a newbie to enjoy. I think the best part is being able to completely dissemble the pen for easy cleaning.

What a nice pen. Writes smoothly, holds lots of ink and seeing the ink flowing in the chamber is nice to watch. Feel nice in the hand. Cannot go wrong with this one.

I don’t really like fine nibs, but this TWSBI is the exception. This pen is remarkable. I store it in my pen cup, nib up, inked with Diamine Oxblood. Not a single hard start, burp, leak, run or mess of any kind. It gives the same idea of solid reliability as a ballpoint in that sense.
I use it for long writing sessions (attempt at a novel…) and it is unfazed by paper type or quality.
The box with tools is super-cool.
And of course it and the ink came with the usual congratulations, card, decent packaging and feel-good service courtesy of Writegear.

I bought htis pen after reading a few reviews from different sites. I use the pen mostly for sketching over my watercolor paintings. The build quality is great and the volume of ink it holds is a great plus, especially while sketching. The ergonomics is excellent, feels great writing and sketching with this pen. The service from Writegear is five star as usual.
