My favourite steel nib! Nicely proportioned with a decently long section, for me it’s comfortable in hand with good balance when posted. Nothing too fancy, a good working pen.
But oh! the nib! I got this in fine, and the (now de-listed) clear version in medium. With a tipping that isn’t the usual bland blob but slightly squared-off for some subtle character, a moderate bit of that Platinum feedback and that little bit of springiness to the nib, these are great to write with. One of very few pens with which I find myself spontaneously exploring different papers and surfaces.
Both pens write wider than expected of Platinum, the fine about the same as the 0.3 Preppy. Both are juicy writers but with consistent ink flow over several pages.
Note that the (transparent!) feed appears to have hidden channels—I would not use pigment inks in these pens.
One star docked for the aesthetically-jarring opaque white inner cap that gets ink stuck behind it. One star added back for the superb nib! (Do not try and remove that inner cap; instead, there is a little plug that can be pulled out using strong adhesive tape or similar and then one can wash out behind the cap).
