Fuyu-Syogun
The name Iroshizuku is a combination of the Japanese words Iro (Coloring), expressing high standards and variation of colors, and Shizuku (Droplet), that embodies the very image of dripping water. Each ink name derives from the expressions of beautiful Japanese natural landscapes and plants, all of which contribute to the depth of each individual hue.

syogun Rigor of Winter Snowy Season (Bluish Dark Gray)
Old Man Winter is a personification of the harsh and cold winter. This shade of grey conjures up the image of the cold, clear air of the severe winter season.

My favorite grey ink of all time. It is a stunning blue grey that is defiantly on the light but still perfectly readable side. I would describe this ink as airy, whimsical, dreamy but with an edge. The formula glides even in my EF pens and flushing is a dream.

God, what a beauty. I didn’t quite appreciate it at first, perhaps because it’s expensive and I tried to be sparing by using it in an F or EF nib, where it’s pretty, but not exceptional. In a Lamy M nib, however, it took on a gorgeous, cloudy-sky quality. It’s light but perfectly legible, and it looked so soft and wintery every time I saw it on a page (usually the exam pads I used for longer writing) that I immediately wanted to use it again. On my list of inks to save up for.

As with all iroshizuku Inks a beautifully balanced and wet ink. perfect for use in all types of nibs. There’s a lovely shading to it… I would say this is a cool grey, not entirely blueish but cool. Perfect for work and office if you don’t want to conform to a normal black ink.

We live in strange times. I use this ink every morning for my journalling sessions. With all the crap that is going on out there in the world, I find writing in this colour suits the mood, quiet words, carefully chosen, whispers. Writing with this particular colour is soothing. The phrase “ghost-written” comes to mind. There is a gentleness to this that I like very much. Meditative
