Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen – Black Makrolon
The Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen is one of the most iconic designs in the writing world. This pen has been around for over 50 years, and it still looks ultra-modern.
The 2000 has a body made of black Makrolon, which is a kind of fiberglass. It’s warm to the touch, and durable without being too heavy. This material also has a really interesting lined texture. The darkness of the body gives it quite a minimalistic style, with the only contrast coming from the silver clip.
Speaking of the clip, it is spring-loaded, making it easy to clip onto thicker pockets or pen sleeves.
Removing the cap reveals a beautiful hooded nib. This is a Platinum coated 14k Gold nib, and it’s a pleasure to write with.
The Lamy 2000 is a piston filler, meaning a converter is not required to fill this pen with bottled ink. Simply dip the nib into the ink, and turn the knob on the back to fill it. Blue-black inks are a great match for this pen, such as Sailor Sei-Boku, though a black pen would go well with any shade of ink.
This pen ships in a Lamy gift box. Please note that as a piston filler, it is not compatible with cartridges.
