Diamine Fountain Pen Ink – Eclipse
Originating in the 1800’s, Diamine Ink has a long history and has been developed into one of the finest quality fountain pen inks on the market. It’s reliability has lead it to become one of the most sought after inks by both professionals and beginners. This Diamine Eclipse Ink is suitable for any brand of fountain pens, making it a convenient purchase too. It is a water-based non-toxic ink, making it a safe option for vintage pens in particular. The eclipse colour of this ink has a beautiful depth to it. It is also versatile in the sense that it has the ability to be easily mixed with other colour inks and create new colours. This Diamine ink also has anti-clogging properties, ensuring even and smooth precision across paper.

This is essentially black with a blue/violet undertone – unless you use a very fine pen. Provides some variation though, so it doesn’t appear as a flat black.

A fairly dark black with a bit of a purple/blue undertone. In most of my pens I honestly don’t really get much shading and it can be difficult to distinguish from Diamine Onyx, it normally just looks a little colder which I actually like.
This ink dries very quickly in an uncapped pen (I think it might even be worse than Onyx in this regards).
If I had to choose only one I would probably pick this ink over Diamine Onyx.

The ink is just about black. Although I would have preferred a little more of the violet to come through, I still enjoy using this colour.

This is one of my darkest purple inks. The ink shows some variation in large swatches, otherwise almost black. It writes reasonably wet too.
